FileReplicationPro 6.5.2 Released
With this release,  we are completing  a roll-out of FRP which supports 64 bit real time replication for the rest of the major Linux
distributions.  This release provides improved performance and better utilization of available memory.  The 64 bit versions are of
particular value to our high-volume customers who use modern 64 bit OS's on their servers.
This release also provides performance enhancements and bug fixes to our Windows and Linux 64 bit and 32 bit customers.
We are already at work on our next release which will include compatibility with MAC 10.8.X and Windows 2012 and Windows 8.

Comodo Security Compromised - GlobalSign Official Statement
GlobalSign's Official Statement regarding the recent breach of Comodo's SSL Security

On March 23 2011, the Certification Authority Comodo announced it had mis-issued 9 SSL Certificates to high profile websites including:

•    login.live.com

•    mail.google.com

•    www.google.com

•    login.yahoo.com (3 certificates)

•    login.skype.com

•    addons.mozilla.org

The Certificates were issued through one of its unnamed Registration Authority (RA) Partners who had been given transferrable trust rights to issue publicly trusted SSL Certificates.

The fraudulent Certificates have since been revoked, however due to the high profile nature of the mis-issued Certificates, Microsoft, Google and Mozilla have issued browser updates to hardcode the revocation status of the Certificates into the browsers. We advise all GlobalSign customers to update their browsers immediately.

This is a very serious compromise of unprecedented scale. As further details unfold, our security group will publish a full statement. However we wish to strongly iterate that this is a completely standalone attack on the Comodo systems. GlobalSign wishes to confirm to all customers, partners and the industry as a whole that GlobalSign is not affected by the Comodo compromise.

New reports of DNS amplification / DDoS attacks

Over the past few days, a number of Simple DNS Plus users have reported that they are receiving a lot of incoming DNS requests for <root> and/or various unknown domain names - typically originating from a limited number of IP addresses. We have also noticed reports of this with other DNS servers on various forums etc.
If you see something similar, this may be an indication that someone is abusing your DNS server as part of a so-called DNS amplification attack against a third party - the owner of the IP address that the DNS requests appear to originate from.By sending a DNS request from a spoofed IP address, the attacker attempts to trick your DNS server into sending a DNS response packet to the victim and thereby become part of a DDoS attack. Typically the request is designed to trigger a response packet which is larger than the original request packet - thus the amplification.
